Increase Your Web Business: E-mail Signature Files
If you are involved in a home business,
you probably run into the dilemma of how to make the public
aware of your name and products you distribute. You may have
used a variety of methods to advertise your business in the
public arena including the Internet. By posting on message
boards and in forums trying to advertise your business, this
is great but you are missing the full potential of what the
Internet can offer you.
An
excellent way to generate new business is by including
a Signature File. You can attach this signature on everything
you send over the Internet. Not sure what this is? It is
a small piece of biographical information attached to the
end of e-mails or other forms of electronic correspondence.
It can be a sentence or longer. This is an excellent opportunity
to let the public know who you are, what you have to offer,
and then direct them to your business. If you attach the
URL, they can click directly on your link and find out more
about the products and/or services you offer.
When creating your signature file, you
do no want make it long, dry, and boring. You want a sentence that will catch
their eye and draw them in wanting more information about
you and your company. They will then click on your URL visit
your website. You will be completely amazed at what adding
one line or even two at the end of your signature can do
for your business. It is not enough to simply sign your name
and list your URL. You need to do more to draw in the business
giving the public a reason to want to click on your URL.
Be creative, be catchy, and enjoy the responses that come
your way.
E-mail
signatures can contain text information. They also
can contain pictures. Not everyone has the ability to see
pictures with their e-mail. You may want to stay with a few
lines of text. The object of using e-mail signatures is that
everyone can see what you are offering. When creating your
e-mail signatures use caution with the words you choose.
Some words or numbers will set off automatic spam filters.
What
is your objective in creating your signature? Are you
looking to draw business to your website? Then you want to
have a small ad and a link. Are you into sales? Consider
adding your phone number. Another idea is to place a favorite

You already use an assortment of advertising techniques for
your business. Now with e-mails that you send out, you are
multiplying the number of contacts made. Along with your
Outlook e-mail server, there are programs available that
offer a variety of options. You may want to consider creating
more than one signature. Create several signatures that have
different objectives that all lead back to your business.
If you are listing your web address do not forget to add
the HTTP:// without this the person will have to use their
search engine to access your web page.
The
objective of e-mail signatures is to increase your
business. Your signatures should provide your customers with the ability
to contact you in many different ways. If they cannot contact
you, how will you gain their business?
When drawing in customers to your business the easier it
is for them to find what they are looking for the higher
the chances they will stay with you. If your website if difficult
for customers to navigate through they will go to your competitor
and if your e-mail signature is boring or long they will
ignore it. If your e-mail signature is exciting with a link
that takes them exactly to your site with no fuss they will
probably stay around.
